Kudos to the Kent Class!
I was invited to participate as a judge for senior presentations in Bob Petersen's Kent State Class "Issues of Graphic Design". At the end of the semester the seniors present a project to creative industry professionals who critique their presentation along with another member of the class and of course the professor (Adjunct Professor Bob Petersen). I've done this a couple of times. And each time I'm always crazy busy (some rush always occurs) and speeding my way out to Kent. But when I get there, it's a super charge for my creative soul. I often wonder if it isn't more rewarding to me than the seniors. Of interest with this semester's class was a prevalent use of an electronic presentations rather than storyboards and actual work. We talked about this as a class and it represents the overall trend towards digital and especially the shift in the University's requirement of this format early on in their design classes. I've got to say that this group really had something special going on. Great job to all! Thanks for letting me be there!

2011 NAHB International Builder's Show
Judy and Bob visited the 2011 NAHB International Builder's Show. It was a great show with just over 1,000 exhibiting companies and 47,000 attending. Orlando was a great destination for a bit of a winter break. If you didn't make it and want to check out the events that week, check out IBSTV and Flickr.

Mashup with Facebook

In a move that looks, on the surface, to be more beneficial to MySpace than Facebook. The two announced the ability to log into MySpace with a Facebook account. And the cross pollination of data between the two. The data and music content being the win for Facebook, a gap that has been lacking up to this point. Facebook will now be able to target ads with even more accuracy. Will the partnership be the savior of the floundering MySpace? Only time will tell. Read more about it on Mashable.com.

Northeast Ohio boasts tremendous strengths in healthcare, biomedical innovation, medical education and research, device manufacturing and more, yet national awareness of our industry is relatively low. In its continuing effort to collaborate with area healthcare communicators to raise this awareness, Cleveland Plus will be hosting its third Healthcare Communicators’ Summit on Friday, November 5, 2010.

Mega Marketing at Comic-Con
I recommend everybody attend the Comic-Con International event at least once in his or her lifetime. I just attended Comic-Con in San Diego last week and engaged in the awe-inspiring multimedia, mega-marketing geek propaganda. Like the other 165,000 people attending, I bought into almost every advertising and marketing tactic imaginable from all types of companies, vendors and artists.
